Our Stories & Experiences
Hi everyone! I hope you’re finding this website easy to navigate and comfortable because I take credit for building it from scratch. I joined the M1-Seiko team at the end of last year after graduating from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and I currently work as the Digital Strategy & Branding Manager. One of my major projects has been translating our company profile from Japanese to English to attract global attention. Right now, I’m working on an exciting project—not just translating our website content into English, but also developing a completely new concept tailored to the current generation, incorporating AI and video production.
Our Japanese website was originally designed for specialists and customers who already have prior knowledge of our industry. However, we are now shifting towards a more open and accessible approach, encouraging more people to learn about what we do—even if they weren’t initially interested. Our industry may be small and complex, but we hope to inspire more people to explore it.
A little about me—I sometimes find it hard to believe I’ve only lived 23 years, given the depth of my experiences. I was born in the Philippines, moved to Japan when I was five, attended an international school from elementary through high school, and later graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. That one sentence barely scratches the surface of my journey, but through it, I’ve met people from all over the world and gained experiences that make me feel like I could be living on the other side of the planet in five years. If there’s one chapter I’d like to highlight, though, it would be my four years in Hawaii—because they were nothing short of mentally challenging, especially with the global pandemic that reshaped all of our lives.
Starting college online was something I never imagined. After years of hard work in high school, who would have thought I’d be attending my dream university from behind a screen? The online format pushed many of us to the edge, making it difficult to make friends, stay motivated for class, or even just get through daily life. Being 6,000 km away from home only made things harder. I switched majors multiple times, unsure of what I truly wanted to do. I could see the big picture, but not the small brushstrokes that led to it. Despite all the chaos from 2020 to 2022, I eventually graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education.
So, why am I working at M1-Seiko? Because it’s like hitting three birds with one stone—I get to experience business and manufacturing from the front row while also working on digital media for a company. Being here allows me to experience business and manufacturing firsthand while working on digital strategies for a company, making my role incredibly meaningful. At the same time, I’m constantly gaining new knowledge and experience. Since M1-Seiko is always looking for ways to improve, I saw an opportunity to step in and provide my perspective on digital strategy and branding on a global scale. M1-Seiko may be a small company, but we take great pride in our professionalism and craftsmanship, delivering the best precision parts possible to our customers.
